Better to automatically deposit tax return into bank account..?

Or have a paper check sent? I usually have it electronically done..but I've heard skepticism from both ways.. Paper check takes longer, but electronically isn't safe? ..I've known people wait like MONTHS to get their return... im tryin NOT to do that lol
