the problem is the PAL camcorder. you have a product that was designed for play in another country. The other country has different rules for video playback and record options other than recording from the camera. Manufactures must pay higher tariffs for camcorders if the cam can play and record back to the camera, so they defeat this in the camera so it can be cheaper for them to sell. Rules of other countries and what happens when you buy gray market products without all of the facts. sorry for your troubles.
