Apple charged me for no reason?

I was trying multiple times to put my AMEX prepaid (gift) card on my iTunes account. I just recently found out that Apple doesn't support that particular card. When I checked my credit card statement Apple charged me like $4 or $5 and I didn't even buy anything. Help? It would be most appreciated. :D
