Vampire Question, from a non-Twilighter. Important please read?

Hi there. Ok, so I have a very important essay due. We have to write about truth behind current fads, and of course-the only girl in the entire cl who isn't obsessed with Twilight, gets "Vampires" Anyways-its a very important paper worth a large chunk of my grade. I need information about Vampire hunts from as long as 600 years ago. I need to know the possibility of vampires actually existing, where the vampire myth originated-and please don't tell me Bram Stroker, that's very much not true. The main issue, is that the internet has a bunch of false information. I need to know where to get primary sources, such as Diaries from "Vampire hunters", news articles from supposed vampire attacks, any primary source that has to do with Vampires. Can someone please help me out?
